We all know our WSS players are stars, and now we get to see and hear them in the spotlight! WSS principal players take the lead in this all-orchestra, genre-spanning program. Our own trumpeters extraordinaire – Anita Cirba and Ken Wilmot – dazzle in Vivaldi’s effervescent Concerto for Two Trumpets. Mozart’s Sinfonia concertante, featuring Kathryn Levy, new WSS oboist Amanda Gerfin, Robert Campbell, and new WSS principal bassoonist Saxton Rose, is a delight for audience and performers alike. Finally, the entire orchestra steals the spotlight in a performance of Bartók’s ever-popular Concerto for Orchestra.
