AT&T North Carolina Recognized as New Corporate Partner of the Winston-Salem Symphony

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (December 13, 2017) – AT&T North Carolina has been recognized as a new Corporate Partner in support of the Symphony’s dedication to artistic excellence and music education for the Winston-Salem community. The $1,000 gift is in recognition of the Symphony’s continued commitment to providing world-class live music performances to the Piedmont Triad area.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for corporate leaders in Winston-Salem to show their support for community non-profit organizations,” said Ann Fritchman Merkel, Chief Customer Officer at Hanesbrands, Inc. and Co-Chair of the Symphony Patron Development Task Force. “It is very strategic for corporations to invest in the cultural livelihood of communities, not just for economic development efforts, but also to assist in corporate recruitment efforts. A community with strong artistic institutions such as the Winston-Salem Symphony is a strong incentive to bring top talent to our area. It is a win-win strategy for the for-profit and non-profit worlds.”

“I am excited to learn about AT&T’s support of the Winston-Salem Symphony, celebrating one of our community’s oldest arts institutions,” said State Representative Ed Hanes, Jr., President and Owner of Monticello Park Holdings and former Symphony Board member. “This shows a commitment and investment in our community that strengthens Winston-Salem’s reputation as the City of Arts and Innovation.”

“Our company has a long history of working to make a difference in the communities where our employees and customers live and work,” said Kathleen Evans, regional director of external affairs for AT&T North Carolina. “While that is often through our investment in advanced technology, we also support organizations that improve a community’s quality of life, such as the Winston-Salem Symphony. We are delighted to support the ongoing work of the Symphony, its musicians, and staff in enriching lives through outstanding music.”
