Winston-Salem Symphony Appoints Jessica Morel Assistant Conductor

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AUGUST 10, 2016) – The Winston-Salem Symphony has named Jessica Morel assistant conductor effective August 24. Prior to joining the Winston-Salem Symphony, Morel served as visiting assistant professor and director of orchestral activities at the University of Evansville, Indiana, and conductor for the Lollipops Concert Series with the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra.

Soprano Margaret Carpenter Haigh is in demand as a soloist and professional chorister both in the United States and abroad. A passionate proponent of both early music and new music, she regularly performs works by composers from the Renaissance and Baroque periods as well as music written by contemporary composers. Margaret is co-founder of the French Baroque ensemble L’Académie du Roi Soleil alongside UK-born organist and harpsichordist Nicolas Haigh.

Winston-Salem Symphony Announces Resignation of Assistant Conductor Stephen Mulligan

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (May 10, 2016) – The Winston-Salem Symphony today announces the resignation of Assistant Conductor/Youth Symphony Conductor/Youth Orchestras Program General Manager Stephen Mulligan effective May 31, 2016. Mulligan departs the Winston-Salem Symphony to focus on the increasing amount of work he is being offered outside of Winston-Salem.
